Dr. Renée Marchin Prokopavicius is an ARC DECRA Fellow working closely with the Which Plant Where? research program based at Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment.
Renée is a plant ecophysiologist who studies the effects of heatwaves and drought on plant function. Her research uses ecophysiological approaches to understand how plant functional traits determine which species or genotypes succeed in changing environments.
Renée contributed to the Survive and Thrive Module of the Which Plant Where? project by determining the physiological heat and drought tolerance of over 100 plant species in glasshouse experiments. Her current work aims to determine which plant species use transpiration to survive heatwaves in urban environments.
